One House Three Ways
Case Study: Six Square House

The process began with a precedent to research: Six Square House located in Bridgehampton, NY, by Young Projects. Carried out with three other classmates, we were then prompted to individually transform the design and create a living space for a family.

The key theme of this project was “to bend” as I wanted to alter each of the squares and see how they could create new spaces. Because the prominent roof structure in our precedent, I intended to merge it with the body of the design itself. Through this bending motion, the character of the roof could be carried throughout design, becoming the enclosures themselves, while diversifying the interior experience that they would offer.
